Redington no stitch wader

Redington Introduces New Wader Technology with No Stitching in the Sonic-Pro Series.

Noticing a gap in the market, Redington searched to see what new technology could be used to improve on the current waders in the line and ultrasonic welding was the answer. Using this sew free technique, combining different waterproof and breathable fabrics and differing layering situations provide multiple benefits. Seams are completely flat eliminating spots for wear, and no needles means no holes for water to penetrate. No thread is used reducing weight and material needed to be less bulky throughout all while negating seam failure.

All three wader styles in this category utilize ultrasonic welding but also have many more features. The Sonic-Pro Zip Front and the Stocking Foot Waders have five layers of fabric on the lower legs and seat for added durability, ergonomic hand warmer pockets lined with brushed micro fleece and laser cut exterior pockets with YKK water-resistant zippers. They also have custom designed features such as a 2” stretch wading belt with a Redington buckle, gravel guards with a molded lace hook and a hemostat clamp d-ring near the suspender attachment point. The major difference between these two waders is the Zip Front waders feature a full, center-front Riri ‘Storm’ Waterproof Zipper to allow getting in and out of the waders much easier. The third style in this collection is the Sonic-Pro Wader Pant, which has many of the same features. Instead of a 5-layer system, the pants feature 3-layers to increase breathability while still maintaining durability.

Difficult and dangerous times

I have been working away from home since almost mid October. This is the first short opportunity that I have had to post to this blog since then. Like many people in this country I’ve had to adapt to changing circumstances – its difficult to remain focused on two professional situations so the blog has suffered a little. It exacts a personal commitment that needs to be done well rather than done at all.

The number of weekly page views which during October was climbing to over 10,000 a week is now running down to 8,000 per week. The amount of effort and focus required to maintain this profile is not to be underestimated.

Time spent alone away from writing and linking the photos into posts gives you a different and newer perspective.

Today is a difficult day amongst what appears to be an unending cycle of continued incompetence arrogance inability and lack of any vision imagination or creativity.

You may have noticed that my season for 2011 is already 75% full. Germany, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, the UK, France, Holland - people continue to want to come bass fishing during 2011.

Is this not indicative of a continued sustainable and strategic use of a natural resource? Is this not direct foreign and national investment of a different kind? Is this not, and many other small projects like it, what this country needs right now? Show me where the quality of the fishing available seen on these pages is celebrated or actively promoted anywhere in this country, fishing of a quality not obtainable elsewhere in Europe.

What concerns me is the people whom will continue to dismay us today, and the so called organisations that are attributed with promotion and protection whom have failed in so many ways will continue to do so in the future.

A departing Government like this one has many tricks up its sleeves and under the camouflage of budgets and borrowings and general mayhem, its a perfect environment to stroke a pen and then run and hide in the wilderness years of political oblivion. Remember.

November weather summary

Mild, wet and windy weather during the first half of November was followed by a spell of drier but colder conditions, while the last few days of the month were extremely cold with widespread snowfall.

At most stations it was the coldest November since 1985, due largely to exceptionally low temperatures between the 28th and 30th. Air temperatures fell below -6°C in many places on the 28th and 29th, while both Dublin Airport and Casement Aerodrome recorded their lowest November values on record on the 28th; this was also the coldest November day on record at the same stations, with maximum values not rising above -1°C. In total, between 10 and 14 days with air frost were recorded at eastern and midland stations during the month, around twice the normal number for November.

The very cold period at the end of the month produced widespread wintry showers, but the heaviest falls of rain were recorded earlier in the month, associated with deep Atlantic depressions close to Ireland. Monthly rainfall totals were above normal except in the south. Heaviest daily falls were on the 7th/8th and 16th/17th, particularly in western areas, where localised flooding resulted. There were between 14 and 22 wetdays during the month at most stations (days with 1mm or more rainfall), a little higher than normal for November, while 26 wetdays were recorded at Belmullet.

Despite a very dull start to the month, sunshine totals were well above normal everywhere and it was the sunniest November in over 50 years of record at Belmullet.
